BISHOPS CLEEVE COLTS FC
Powered by volunteers, community spirit, and a commitment to developing young players in a safe, respectful environment.
Bishops Cleeve Colts Football Club was founded by Len Taylor in 1971.
We believe in giving our local young people a quality start to their personal and social development from an early age.
We’re not just about teaching boys and girls how to kick a ball and score goals.
Winning is great, but we’re committed to helping develop healthy, fit, active and happy local citizens of the future.
The Chair has changed regularly over the years but the club’s ethos is still as strong today as it was then.

THE COLTS PARTICIPATE IN THE FOLLOWING LEAGUES
We have nearly 50 teams running from U5 to U18, and it’s always worth registering your child’s interest – even if some age groups are currently full.
Once you submit your enquiry, the relevant coaches will be notified, and we’ll be in touch to confirm whether there are spaces available. Please note that while we’d love to offer a place to every child, we’re sometimes limited by pitch availability.
If there’s no space right now, don’t worry – there may be opportunities to start a new team. We’re always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers, and with your help, we could make it happen. Our club runs entirely on the dedication of volunteers – without them, there’d be no football at all!
MATCH DAY - WHEN DO WE PLAY?
We offer children fun and organised football from ages 4 to 18, for boys and girls.
Bishops Cleeve itself is growing grapidly, and our football club with it, and we’re doing our best to cater for demand.
Teams from U5 thru U11 typically train and play games on Saturday mornings.
Teams from U12 thru U18 typically play games on Sunday afternoons, training varies team to team in mid-week.
Girls teams typically play games on Sunday mornings.
MOST OF OUR COACHES ARE PARENTS, JUST LIKE YOU.
Rich Davis, Coach, U11 Wanderers Boys
The reason I coach is to try and give back to the game we all love and for it to make a positive impression on all the players. Seeing the players have fun, build friendship and learn the valve of teamwork is the true side of winning within grassroots football. When players get older the won’t remember the scoreline vs a certain opposition but they will remember their teammates, being valued in a club and hopefully the positive impact football has had on their younger years!
Marc Harris, U9s Tigresses Girls
For me, through always working with young people, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a bunch thrive and form friendships.. Encouraging team work and looking out for each other through football is a skill that will stay with them for life. Win or lose, encouragement of positivity is what it is all about.
REMEMBER......
The FA’s Respect programme was launched in the 2008-09 season following a build-up of behavioural problems in the National Game. The FA’s ‘We Only Do Positive’ campaign speaks to coaches and parents within mini-soccer and youth football following a strategic review to The FA Respect programme that focuses on this important area of the national game.
